This year we've listened to your feedback and decided to keep things as simple as possible so there is only one public voting category:
Vote for The Greatest Garden Centre Team 2011
The winners will be the teams with the most votes in relation to the number of staff in the following sizes:
- Small Garden Centresup to 20 staff
- Mid sized Garden centresbetween 20 and 50 staff
- Large Garden Centre Teams between50 and 100 staff
- Destination Garden centre Teamsover 100 staff
There will also be regional awards too.

The Greatest Garden Centre Catering Team
As catering becomes even more important for Garden Centre success, we're looking for the garden centre catering team that really delivers a competitive edge. Quality of food, variety, range of menu and smiling helpful staff will be tested by our judges and all those garden centre team votes that you generate from your coffee shop or restaurant will be taken into account when the final decisions are made.
The Greatest Planteria Sales
Team Usually the key differential in a garden centre's repertoire is the expertise of the Planteria Sales Team. However, each year we look for the Planteria sales teams that stand out from the rest. The teams that go that extra mile to help customers buy the right plants and have the best ways of passing on their expertise. This year the judges will come and meet all nominated Planteria teams and they will also take into account customer comments about the Planteria Team and plant sales on the Garden centre Team voting.
The Greatest Garden Care Sales Team
Which Garden Centre Team does The Greatest job at selling Garden Care products to their customers? Innovative display, knowledgeable staff, great promotions and point of sale will all be on the judges hit list.
The Greatest Wild Bird Care Sales Team
Wild Bird Care sales are an all round sales opportunity in garden centres now, but which team is The Greatest at creating extra sales opportunities and making the most of their customers desire to see more birds in their gardens during the summer?
The Greatest Outdoor Leisure Sales Team
With all the great weather we're bound to have this year and all the excuses there are for parties which garden centre team is The Greatest at selling the outdoor leisure dream?

The Greatest Garden Centre Customer Care & Advice Team
Great garden centres pride themselves on giving great customer service and great gardening advice. The Greatest Awards uses a mystery shopper to judge just who delivers the best customer care and advice in 2011. Our judges will come and meet all of the nominated customer care teams and then select a shortlist of teams who will be visited by our mystery shopper for the ultimate test.
The Greatest Pets & Aquatics Sales Team
Pet & Aquatics Sales Teams build long term relationships with customers who come back time after time. The Greatest Awards is looking for the Team that consistently works as a team to build their Pet & Aquatics customer base and ensure constant customer satisfaction. The judges will meet all Pet & Aquatics nominated teams and take into account any customer comments in the Garden Centre Team voting. This category is open to garden centre and franchise teams, but the Team must be based on a garden centre site.

What ideas have you implemented to ensure you grow your Grow Your Own related sales in 2011? As the market continues to grow, how are you winning new Grow Your Own customers and using the activity as a key part of your marketing activity?

How Green is your Garden Centre business and how well do your team live the green mission and pass it on to customers? New for this year The Greatest Awards is looking for the Greenest Garden Centre Team as well as the greatest. The judges will be looking for the team with the best environmental strategy that is part of every team members working life and that is being used to encourage greener activities from their customers.
